Gianni Versace made a name for himself in designer jeans, and 1994 followed his success up with the first of a series of Versace perfumes named for his designer jeans. Although the first Versace perfume, Gianni Versace, was introduced 1988, followed in 1989 by Woman, 1991 by the Versace perfume Versus, with its plum, rose, and cedar fragrances making it ideal for evening wear, and the Versace perfumes of the Jeans Series which followed beginning with Red Jeans in 1994, with their scents ranging from floral to citrus to exotic are one of the most popular in the world.
The Versace perfume Red Jeans was introduced as a companion to Versaces Blue Jeans cologne. Perhaps Versace need not have bothered with releasing the fragrances simultaneously, because its Blue Jeans cologne almost immediately took off as a Versace perfume for women, and remains equally popular among both men and women today.
Versace, however, did not stop with blue and red; 1995 brought Versace perfumes Baby Blue Jeans and Baby Rose Jeans; 1996, Yellow Jeans; and 1997, White Jeans. Metal Jeans followed in 2000.
Versace Packaging
One recognizable hallmark of every Versace perfume presentation is its packaging, and the Jeans collection is no different. Each scent is bottled in glass of the appropriate color, and each bottle is housed in a decorative tin with a young woman dressed in denims on a patterned background which the Versace perfumes name is written in large yellow letters.
The exceptions are the Yellow Jeans tin, which has black lettering; The White Jeans tin is gold with black lettering, and Metal Jeans Versace perfume, is in a plain lavender tin with a wraparound banner of white lettering against a black background. But every bottle of Versace perfume in the Jeans collection has four of the raised lion heads which are the Versace equivalent Ralph Laurens polo player. There is another lion head on each bottles cap.
Versace perfumes of the Jeans collection are packaged by people who understand that even the best products in the world will suffer from poor presentation. The metal containers are not only colorful and stylish; they offer protection to the fragrances within, and can be used as decorative home accents when the all their contents have been used.
Other Versace Fragrances
Apart from the Jeans collection, there is a Versace Perfume for every occasion. Two of the best-selling ones are Blonde and Crystal Noir, with romantic hints of jasmine, or gardenia and orange blossom, evoking the romance of moonlit verandas and tropical nights. There is certain to be a Versace perfume perfect for every part of your life!
